I work on the history of human sciences in late nineteenth-century Russian Empire. I focus in particular on experimental psychology, forensic psychiatry and criminal anthropology. For my doctoral dissertation I research the history of self in Russian Empire through the various pathologies of the will. I work with scientific and research publications and patients´ case records to trace the scientization, pathologization and criminalization of the will in an imperial setting in the aftermath of the Great Reforms.
